As a dental professional when it comes to selecting the right tools for the job it’s almost impossible not to invoke images of equipment used for treating patients; drills; mirrors; brushes – you get the picture.
However the provision of consistent and high quality dental treatment extends far beyond the remit of instruments used directly for treating patients.
Ergonomics has become a popular term used in many professions, but due to the nature of patient treatment it is particularly significant for the dental profession.
Improving the ergonomic delivery of dental services and accounting for working conditions in dental offices enhance the well-being and safety of patients, staff and practitioners.
As a dental professional ergonomics is important to your health and longevity in the profession. How often does your back ache at the end of the workday? How many days of work are missed due to improper seating postures?
Accordingly the selection of appropriate seating equipment is a consideration that should be treated with a high priority when it comes to selecting the right tools for the job.
With over a decade of experience delivering effective, ergonomic and economical solutions to specialized workplaces Industry Chairs are delighted to announce our new range of dental stools.
The Apollo range, including Apollo Doctor, Apollo Assistant and Apollo Stool, is designed specifically to meet the requirements of different functions performed within dental environments allowing users to work comfortably, safely and ergonomically.
Finished in a hardwearing sky blue vinyl with seamless upholstery and rounded surface geometries the lack of sharp edges or crevices to catch dirt allows quick and thorough cleaning.
Each chair comes with a 200mm adjustable stroke chrome gas lift and is supported by a 580mm diameter five spoke star base designed to be streamlined for use in restricted environments.
In addition each model in the Apollo range boasts comfortable asepsis seat cushions, and a clean clinical appearance that inspires confidence amongst both patients and practitioners.
Apollo Assistant
Designed for Dental assistants this chair is fitted with a swing torso support which is both height and depth adjustable to hug the curvature of the waist and provide correct support for reaching and leaning. The torso support includes a convertible ratchet control which allows the arm to be moved easily across the seat for left-handed or right handed users.
The seat mechanism incorporates a carbon steel j-bar support while the backrest pivot hinge provides free float tilting for lumber comfort. The seat depth adjustment positions the backrest relative to the seat.
The Apollo Assistant also includes an adjustable steel footring as standard.

The Apollo Doctor features a synchronised back rest and seat pan tilt mechanism allowing the user to adjust both the tilt of the seat pan and back rest with one handle.
If preferred, the backrest and seat tilt can be locked in a free floating position for users who need to lean forwards and backwards during consultations allowing you to move in closer to the patient.
The large, anatomically-shaped backrest supports the lower back and the ergonomic tilt reduces strain and fatigue, ensuring proper circulation to lower extremities.
