The Australasian Furnishing Research and Development Institute (AFRDI) is a non-profit, independent organisation providing Australian and New Zealand furniture buyers with a set of standards, product certification, testing and research.
Official AFRDI certification provides assurance that the product you are buying has been tested and approved by an independent authority and a further guarantee of high quality. Reassuringly AFRDI state:
“An AFRDI Level 6 certified office chair will meet most commercial needs. Level 6 chairs should be able to withstand extremely severe conditions of use, such as police stations, military installations, control rooms and use in heavy industry.”
